Embracing the Bare Truth: Americans’ Confidence When Nude.

Ever wondered how comfortable Americans are with their bodies, especially when it comes to being nude? Bespoke Surgical surveyed over 3,000 people across various states to find out.

The survey involved respondents rating their nudity confidence on a scale from 1 to 10 in scenarios like sending nude photos, being naked around pets, and even Facetime sex. Interestingly, no state scored above 5.8 on this scale, showing some societal challenges in fully embracing our bodies. Shockingly, 71% of respondents feel pressured to have a specific body type, with 82% blaming social media for these pressures. Curated feeds and endless comparisons impact self-image significantly.

Washington tops the list with the highest nudity confidence score at 5.80, while Indiana and Oregon are at the bottom with 4.36. Baby Boomers, gay/lesbian Americans, and CIS gendered men are the most nude-confident demographics. Gay and lesbian respondents scored an average of 5.3, which is 6.6% higher than the general average.

Confidence peaks during sexual activity with lights off, scoring 8.59 out of 10. Being nude at home alone is also liberating, scoring 7.85. However, changing in front of friends is much less comfortable, scoring only 4.05.
