A recent study looked at 130 women to see what kind of men’s bodies they prefer. The
researchers found that women who are interested in short-term relationships are
especially drawn to men with a low waist to chest ratio, meaning those with broad
shoulders and a narrow waist, forming a V-shaped torso. This shape might suggest
strong genetics.
Interestingly, all women spent about the same amount of time looking at men’s bodies,
regardless of their interest in short-term or long-term relationships. However, women
who think they are more attractive themselves were more likely to rate men with these
V-shaped torsos as more attractive. These women also focused more on specific parts
of the men’s bodies, like the head and midsection
.
This study suggests that women’s preferences for certain body types can be influenced
by how attractive they think they are. So, next time you find yourself noticing a guy’s
body, remember—it’s all about the proportions!
