In today’s era of dating apps and sex positivity, first-date sex is no longer taboo. A
survey of over 2,000 adults reveals that nearly half (49%) have enjoyed a first-date
romp, while 42% prefer to wait. Men are keener, with almost 60% admitting to a first-
date hookup, compared to 43% of women, who often face more stigma.
Young adults (18-24) and seniors (55+) are the least likely to dive in, with only 31% and
42% respectively having done so. For those who abstain, 47% cite discomfort with
sleeping with someone they don’t know, while 38% simply don’t believe in it.
Interestingly, 49% of women are open to first-date sex to test sexual compatibility,
whereas men (and most respondents) just enjoy the experience.
So, whether you’re looking to test the waters or just have a good time, first-date
fireworks are lighting up the night!
